The World Armwreslting Federation (WAF) would like to officially invite your country to attend the 37th World Armwrestling Championship and the World Para Armwrestling Championship which will be held from 27th of September to the 3rd of October 2015in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

 

2015 World Armwrestling Championship will be hosted by Malaysian Armwrestling Association (PAWA) in the name of Ahmad Badrulhisam Che Kasim as President of the Association. They are prepared to receive over 50 participating countries and more than 1500 competitors.

Getting to MALAYSIA

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is Malaysia's main international airport and one of the major airports of South East Asia. It is located 75 km from the city centre.

 

Getting to KUALA LUMPUR

 

1.    Official Championship Airport Transfer from KLIA

Available between 25th September and 5th October 2015, 24/7.

 

Cost: 20 € per person both ways (airport – hotel, hotel – airport)

2.    KLIA Express

If you come earlier or leave later, KLIA Express takes you from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Kuala Lumpur Central Stationand return, every day from 5 AM to 1 AM every 15 minutes.

The journey takes 28 minutes with secure containers to check-in and check-out luggage. Normal fares for one-way is RM 35 / 8.3 € / 9.2 $ (adult).

 

3.    Express Coach

If you come earlier or leave later, the journey from KLIA to KL Central will be approximately 1 hour. The fare for one-way is RM 10 / 2.4 € / 2.6 $ (adult).

Tickets can be purchased from the ticket counter located on the ground floor, Block C, at KLIA.

Team Registration Rules

 

1. Team Registration will be made ON-LINE ONLY latest 13th September 2015 at http://registration.waf-armwrestling.com/

2.    Username and password are available upon request by the official team representing WAF Member.

3.   The final registration form (.pdf file) must be sent to the General Secretary by e-mail at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. no later than Sunday, September 13, 2015.

4.         A fine of 50 € will be charged for late online registration.

5.         Team registration order will be determined by first online registration date, as published on site.

6.         Team Registration will take place Sunday 27th of September 2015, from 09:00 at Berjaya Hotel.

7.         Teams not registered within these times will be subject to President and/ or General Secretary review. If accepted for team registration, a fine of 100 € will be charged.

8.         No Team will be registered once tournament has started.

9.         Changes are accepted free of charge only during first Team Registration process. Any other changes will be fined with 50 € per change + regular fees.

10.      Changes can be made only within Team Registration and Weigh-in schedule.

11.      Changes not processed within these times will be subject to President and/ or General Secretary review. If accepted for changes a fine of 100 € will be charged.

12.      No changes are allowed during competition.

13.      No changes will be made without written approval of General Secretary.

14.      No fees will be refunded and no substitution of athletes will be allowed.

15.      One person per country and their translator will be allowed to enter registration room. This person must be the legal representative of the country member.

Multiple entries registration

ü  Juniors 18 years cannot register in Juniors 21 years classes.

ü  Juniors 18 years and/ or Juniors 21 years can register in Seniors classes.

TEAM REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

Outside of Registration Room

1.    Receive team registration form for acceptance or changes.

2.    Make the changes on paper.

 

Inside the Registration Room

3.    Register last changes.

4.    Approve, sign and stamp the final registration form.

5.    Pay the total amount in Euro.

6.    Receive the paid amount receipt.

7.    Receive Weigh-in tickets for each competitor.

 

Outside of Registration Room

8.    Check the categories on the weigh-in tickets.

9.    Distribute the Weigh-in tickets to each competitor in your team on the weigh-in day. The weigh-in is not possible without the ticket.

PROTOCOL for WEIGH-IN

 

WEIGH-IN RULES

 

1.      1st Weigh-in – Monday 28th of September 2015, from 09:30, at Berjaya Hotel, only for juniors and master classes according with the scheduled time.

2.      2nd weigh-in – Wednesday 30th of September 2015, from 09:00, at the Berjaya Hotel, only senior and disabled classes according with the scheduled time.

3.      Each athlete must have a copy and the original of their Passport. Copier will be available at weigh-in.

4.      The Weigh-in Schedule Time will be published online, at the official Hotels and at Venue.

5.      You must arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled weigh-in time.

6.      If not in time for weigh-in, team will weigh-in after last team has been weigh-in.

7.      The team must weigh-in together as a complete team (Juniors-Masters / Seniors / Disabled).

8.      English speaking Team Manager must be present during the full weigh-in time.

9.      Only one team will be allowed in weigh-in room at a time. All other teams must wait in a separate waiting area.

10.    Once a person is weighed-in they will then have their photo taken, once the photo is taken they must leave the weigh-in room immediately.

11.    Team Managers must stay until all competitors have been weighed-in and all pictures have been taken.

12.    Each team must come in to weigh-in in the following order: master women, senior women, junior girls, master men, senior men, junior boys.

13.    If a competitor does not make weight first, they can do the second weigh in latest 17:00 on the weigh-in days.

14.    A competitor may only weigh-in between other teams weigh-in or at the end.

15.    A competitor may weigh-in to their normal weight or jump one weight class higher if is possible.

16.    Juniors and Masters who will compete in senior categories will do weigh-in only first day.

17.    A competitor has only two tries at the official scale, no exceptions will be made.

18.    Official Event badges will be given to each Team Captain latest at the end of weigh-in day.

19.    The Team Captain will check all badges upon receive. You must check the names and classes. All errors will be resolved immediately. In case of errors not solved on the weigh-in day, the team captains must come 30 minutes before the competition starts.

20.    Any Team Officials (Referee, President and Coach) with a country must be present at weigh-in to have photo and badge prepared. Badges must be worn all the time during competitions days.

       Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th of September 2015, Thursday 1st, Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd of October 2015.

2.    A complete list of participants per category will be published online, at the official Hotels and at the Venue.

3.    Team Captains can request changes or errors repair latest 30 minutes before competition start at the Secretary table on stage. Fees and fines will apply. No changes will be allowed after this time has passed.

4.    The results of each competition day will be available by noon on the following day.

5.    All finalist and semifinalists must have the Passport or Identity Card with them.

We, the undersigned, President of the Olympic Council of Asia, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Sabah, on the one hand, and the first vice-president of the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF), Mukambetov Dzheembek Battalovich, on the other:

- Having regard to the progressive growth and popularity of the sport of armwrestling in the world;

- Realizing the need to support armwrestling on the Asian continent;

- Foreseeing that armwrestling in the future will be a sport as an effective factor in the development of the Olympic movement.
